At some point in everyone's life, we all come in contact with the legal system. Whether it be a speeding ticket, a youthful indiscretion, conflicts with others or a serious criminal charge, the result could be a simple fine or a sentence that will impact your life forever.
For the past 25 years, ReDirections of Rockingham County has provided innovative programs which reduce litigation and incarceration. Often we believe that there are more effective ways to solve problems than through the legal system. Mediation, for example, can play an important role in resolving business, education and personal disputes. When cases must be handled by the court, we believe that creative intervention strategies often work better than jail or prison sentences as evidenced by our domestic violence class and the Mental Health Court which will begin in November 2018.
Finally, in a time when bigger is sometimes better, we are pleased that ReDirections and the Alamance Dispute Settlement Center have joined together to form a regional center that will serve the citizens of Rockingham and Alamance counties.
